RE: How to delete a part from the Local Part Database in CIS Explorer?

I am trying to revert previously 'approved' parts back to their original 'TMP' parts. Any idea if there is a way to do this either through CIS or SQL database management? I have tried manually editing using database tools, but CIS does not recognize the newly assigned TMP-XX as a TMP part. Long story short, some parts need to go through the approval process again, however I do not want to lose their part history or their original assigned Part number. I would like to revert the majority of the database back to TMP parts. It seems the database stores the original TMP number, so it should be possible to use the database tools to revert back to this TMP number, have CIP recognize the parts once again as TMP, rather than approved, and therefore categorize them as TMP (permissions etc). Then, as I reprocess the parts, I would like to reassign them back to their original assigned part number, which should be easy enough in CIP by looking through the history (or even just writing it down). Can anyone provide me with thoughts on whether this is possible, or ideas how this would be accomplished? Thanks
