I am sure you would agree when I say that a help tool is the one utility without which no software service can ever work. Cadence Help is one such powerful tool , which is integrated with almost all Cadence products; you would never realize that it is a separate application. It is available on all supported platforms and can be invoked from the Help menu or dialog boxes of your Cadence products. This application always existed to provide you with the first-hand help for any documentation needs. But with time, the desktop-application-like countenance started to become outdated and we felt the need to refurbish the way it looks and functions. This brought us to a ‘makeover’ of the tool with Cadence Help 3.0. The overall user experience has been enhanced by improving navigation and upgrading the look and feel of the tool. On the surface, it might appear to be a little step, but come to think of it, why is Google more popular than any other Search Engine? Majorly, for two reasons, first, its interface is contemporary and very intuitive; you don’t need a manual to learn about its controls. Second, you place a great confidence in finding anything you are looking for. Cadence Help 3.0 is treading in the same direction to provide a flawless user-experience. You would see a fresh and more intuitive interface. Web Application-Like Look And Feel To make the tool widely accepted and easy to browse through, we have modernized the way it looks. Introduction of a contemporary toolbar, a hamburger menu, context-sensitive and breadcrumb navigation have made the tool advanced and more adoptable. The new toolbar enables you to show/hide the library pane, browse between pages, and search through documentation very effectively. It lets you search through the documentation across products and releases. The hamburger menu, which provides various options to use/modify Cadence Help can also be accessed on this toolbar. Context-sensitive and Bread-crumb Navigation The capability of displaying the navigation tree according to the current context or the topic shown in the Topic Viewer saves you from getting lost in too many documents. You can use the library pane to explore the product documentation organized in the order of Release→Products→Manuals→Topics. What’s more? You also have the choice to view documentation by product or documentation type. A Hybrid Welcome Page — with Online Capabilities The Welcome page is the gateway to the product suites or releases. When you launch Cadence Help, the welcome page provides various entry points for accessing key documentation areas, such as the new and enhanced features in the latest product releases, core features of the product area, known problems and solutions, and carousel–based online alerts. The carousel shows you the latest news, blogs & forums, or training bytes for the product you are working on. If you are accessing Cadence Help from a remote area, with no internet access, you can still check out all the product documentation, but when online, you can also access the latest product information on the carousel. Online carousel to show the latest product information As an on-going effort, Cadence Help has always promised to bring more relevant results, easier navigation, and a better all-around user experience. Starting late Q4, Cadence Help 3.0 is available with a few Cadence products such as Spectre, Liberate, Tempus, Modus and Voltus. click here to download it to work with your product suite. We invite you to try Cadence Help and let us know about your experience. Vani Verma
